about me

Tag details

'About me' is a phrase that bloggers use to describe a page on their blog where they share some personal information about themselves with their readers.  For individual bloggers it is normally very informal in tone, often detailing the number of children or pets the author has.  For corporate websites and blogs, the information shared is less personal, but still written in an informal tone, often describing the company's charitable efforts.

The 'about' or 'about me' page is designed to help the reader connect with the author on a more personal level, and therefore view the information delivered on the blog or website as more trustworthy, as is the advice of a friend.

Many individual bloggers write their 'about me' pages full of humor and satire, and are therefore very enjoyable to read.  No matter the tone, they are a good way to get to know the authors of your favorite blogs.
