Abs are the muscle group that is responsible for core stability in the upper body. The stability in the core is important for a healthy posture as well as performance in sports. When body fat levels are low enough to promote visibility of the abdominals they are commonly referred to as six-pack abs. A six-pack can be obtained through proper diet, exercise, and a bit of discipline.

Great abs aren’t easy to come by but many people will work hard to get them for non-health related reasons specifically speaking about attracting the opposite sex. On men or women a set of washboard abs can enhance anyone’s appearance and attractiveness.

The desire to burn belly fat for six-pack abs has also helped create a multi-million dollar fat burner supplement industry, sometimes unscrupulously promising results without the hard work. The experts will tell you that hard work and discipline is how to get abs and not through simply taking a pill.
