    http://laurenandemira.com/ 2008/ 1126moving-to-macs-for-productivity-and-prettin…

And the heavens opened, the angels sang, the earth shook a little (gently)… then I got straight back to work, because let’s face it, things are busy. This wouldn’t be such a big deal, I guess, except that until recently Raised Eyebrow has been a PC shop.

    http://laurenandemira.com/ 2008/ 1008killer-book-for-freelancers/

We *heart* Michelle Goodman, author of The Anti 9-to-5 Guide. She’s smart, funny, and a source of incredibly solid, down-to-earth career advice. You know those women’s magazine career columns where they fixate on office politics, what to eat during staff lunches, and dressing for success? Michelle’s writing is the complete opposite of that junk; she focuses on what really matters.

    My feelings about getting stalked

    http://www.shawndrewry.com/ ?p=738

Believe it or not, women are equal to men when it comes to stalking. A man does his stalking thinking with his testosterone. Some women tend to do it differently by learning a man’s ways. It could be psychological stalking, whereas women may get information on the man through having another woman try to speak to him and see where his head is at.

A couple of people have emailed us lately to ask for details on the de-lovely script font we use on this here website*, and that got me thinking that perhaps it would be helpful to some of you if I shared a few of my favourite resources for researching and test-driving typefaces.

    Good Advice for Work-at-Homers

    http://laurenandemira.com/ 2008/ 0715good-advice-for-work-at-homers/

I love it when my professional-geek life and my author life intersect. I was checking out the new issue of the esteemed web design e-zine A List Apart today, and came across Natalie Jost’s excellent article on working from home, “Walking the Line When You Work From Home,” and the lessons therein definitely apply to freelancers and home workers across industries — not just web designers.
