    AGGRE-GATOR!!!

    http://finalflare.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 14/ aggre-gator/

I am the Aggregator, time to go aggregate. Right well soon to come something about RSS Aggregator. Aggregators reduce the time and effort needed to regularly check websites for updates, creating a unique information space or “personal newspaper.” Once subscribed to a feed, an aggregator is able to check for new content at user-determined intervals and retrieve the update.

    The Truth About Aggregators

    http://zking3.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 14/ the-truth-about-aggregators/

The word “aggregate” means to combine. (from http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/aggregate ) An RSS Aggregator is a site which groups subscriptions all into one. Say if you wanted to look at CNN, yahoo, the weather, and entertainment news, but didn’t want to go to four different sites.

Google vs FeedDemon - can’t decide

    http://seanandmelissa.net/ sean/ 2008/ 05/ 13/ google-vs-feeddemon-cant-decide/

I read a lot of news feeds. I currently have 217 feeds in Google Reader, the reader I am using today, and I would say that I grow the list by one or two a week. I saw that Lifehacker was polling readers on the best news reader, and I realized I just wasn’t sure how I would vote.

Alefo Launched, sorta like iGoogle and Netvibes

    http://zedomax.net/ launched/ alefo-launched-sorta-like-igoogle-and-netvibes/

Alefo was just launched, an Israeli based start page that seems to mimick Netvibes and iGoogle. I honestly think they got a lot of catching up to do but maybe that’s why it’s called “pre-beta”. Israeli based Alefo is a news/personal aggregator that is taking on iGoogle and Netvibes.

    Learning the Basics of RSS

    http://marketingonlineinternet.com/ internet-marketing/ learning-the-basics-of-r…

What is RSS? You probably have seen this three-letter acronym in the course of your internet surfing. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary; syndicating means republishing an article that comes from another source such as a website. An RSS is a means of publicizing updates about websites.

did the aggregator kill the commentors?

    http://www.duanemoody.com/ 2008/ 05/ did-the-aggregator-kill-the-commentors/

I’ll openly admit, that I know that I comment less because of how easily it is to digest blogs through the easy to use aggregator format (netvibes for me). In fact, many times, I find that I do more skimming, and find myself back to bored quicker than ever because of aggregators.

Friendfeed Through a Systems Looking Glass: Feeding the Beast

    http://eyeslitcrypt.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 13/ friendfeedthebeast/

The following is a systems approach to the increasingly popular website Friendfeed. Recently, there have been many articles written about this site (I will provide links at the end of this post). I have written what follows through a Media Ecology systems framework with the hopes of “fleshing out”
