0 Comments/Trackbacks September 30, 2008 New XP Practice: "Actually Doing It" Project after project, team after team. There's one constant factor that I come across over and over again when I work with teams who are doing Agile Software Development. Which is: they're not. Not really.

HTML5, Ajax history management, and The Ajax Experience 2008 Boston

    http://www.pathf.com/ blogs/ 2008/ 10/ html5-ajax-history-management-and-the-aja…

The Ajax Experience last week in Boston yielded lots of exciting developments on the Ajax history management front: My talk itself drew a crowd of 110 people or so despite its 8.10 a.m. start time. I received good questions from the audience and didn't notice too many people heading for the doors when they realized how deep into the nitty-gritty technical details I was getting.

    The world mocks too much

    http://www.thekua.com/ atwork/ 2008/ 10/ 06/ the-world-mocks-too-much/

One of my biggest annoyances when it comes to testing is when anyone reaches for a mock out of habit. The “purists” that I prefer to call “zealots”, are overwhelming in numbers, particularly in the TDD community (you do realise you can test drive your code without mocks?) Often I see teams use excuses

    Observed Requirement

    http://www.dzone.com/ links/ rss/ observed_requirement.html

Agile methods violate this underlying assumption by intending to discover the 'requirements' during construction and after delivery. But even this cavalier disregard of the above sage advice is nothing compared to what many leading web sites do these days.
