An air mattress is a mattress or sleeping pad or even a water toy, that is inflated with air before use, and deflated for easier storage.
Commonly, air mattresses are made from PVC vinyl plastic, textile-reinforced urethane plastic or rubber.
Air mattresses are filled in a number of ways. Some may be filled by blowing air into them, or by using an electric or manual pump. Some more expensive air mattresses will auto-fill just by opening the valve.
Air mattresses are most often used for comfort while camping or sleeping off the floor when no other option is available.
