Microsoft said Sunday that it plans to ship the JQuery JavaScript library with its Visual Studio developer tool suite. The software powerhouse said that jQuery would be one of the libraries used to implement higher-level controls in the ASP.net Ajax Control Toolkit, and would also have a role in new Ajax server-side helper methods.

Last week I had to help someone out on the ASP.NET that was asking the question that he couldn't find the 2.0 bits anymore of the ASP.NET AJAX Control Toolkit. Indeed, when you navigate to the Releases tab of the project on Codeplex you'll only see this list:  AjaxControlToolkit-Framework3.5SP1.zip

The AJAX Control Toolkit is a joint project between the community and Microsoft. Built upon the ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions, the Toolkit aims to be the biggest and best collection of web-client components available. I’ve been using several of these on an internal .NET project and I’m pretty impressed.

I just released the latest version of the Ajax Control Toolkit for .NET 3.5 SP1. This is an intermediary release that provides a version of the Toolkit that is built against the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1. It contains a new control, MultiHandleSlider, built by Daniel Crenna (thanks, Daniel, you're the hero of this release) and integrates patches contributed by the community.

Wow, someone has been busy. There just appeared 46 brand new AJAX Control Toolkit tutorials. They're nice and short to show specific topics and needs. Nicely done. Grz, Kris.

You can download the sources from here  ASP.NET TextBox has an integer attribute “MaxLength”which corresponds to html text input’s property with the same name. It works perfectly when the textbox is single line, normal input type “text”.
