Have You Seen the Flickr Panda’s Technicolor Yawn?

http://mashable.com/ 2008/ 10/ 06/ flickr-panda-rainbow-vomit/
I’m trying to to come up with a decent way to introduce this - there really isn’t a sane way to approach this because the latest feature from Flickr, while fairly mundane in function, is borderline insane. ...

Ask.com Revamps Search Algorithm Again *Yawn*

    http://blog.toptenreviews.com/ ?p=572

Poor Ask.com is like the guy in the back of the office who works really hard but just gets ignored instead of receiving praise. The Little Search Engine That Could just keeps innovating and improving itself with little or no recognition. That’s why news that Ask.com is overhauling the search algorithm once again is not really met with a lot of fanfare.

    StumbleUpon With New Algorithms

    http://blogaboutyourblog.com/ 2008/ 10/ 07/ stumbleupon-with-new-algorithms/

Rumors are circulating that SU has been sold and updated their algorithms. This basically means how they value the “power” of your stumbles. Some users think that only “spammers” should care about this but of course I disagree.

Making Your Site User Friendly Today content is king, and in order to achieve high search engine rankings on the major search engines, your site must have relevant and useful content that is designed for human readers.

Of Pandas and Rainbows (Secrets of Explore)

    http://blog.wolffmyren.com/ 2008/ 10/ 06/ of-pandas-and-rainbows-secrets-of-expl…

Of Pandas and Rainbows, originally uploaded by The Searcher. (All Rights Reserved, Derek Chatwood) Great photo/description of how Flickr Explore works (not my photo above, btw): There is no real “secret” to Explore. That’s the big secret.

    Making Your Site User Friendly

    http://articles.intl.in/ making-your-site-user-friendly/

Many website owners concentrate on making their site easy to crawl by the search engine robots in an attempt to gain higher search engine rankings. Most of the time the end result is a lower than expected ranking from the search engines.

    Odyne Battery Management System

    http://jcwinnie.biz/ wordpress/ ?p=3417

Speak again of ATKs (Advanced Transportation Kits), and up pops Odyne, a company that has developed a proprietary system that “enables vehicles to have lower fuel, operating and maintenance costs with substantially lower emissions.” This blog previously has reported upon intelligent networks increasingly used in vehicles.

Functional List with fast Random Access

    http://debasishg.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 10/ functional-list-with-fast-random-access…

I needed a List with fast random access capabilities. Standard implementations of a List takes O(i) to access the ith element. I am using Scala and arrays do not really cut as a well-behaved functional data structure. Besides I needed dynamic resizing, persistence and good worst case complexity.

Live Search is researching a ranking feature similar to Google’s Page Rank called Browse Rank.

    http://www.reapmoneyonline.com/ 10/ live-search-is-researching-a-ranking-feature…

After being jilted by a lover , is it natural to seek solace in the arms of another? :-P  Please allow us this brief moment to be dramatic since we are going to press on to a little-known document, to Google fans anyway, that was a tedious read. It’s no secret that Microsoft is itching to take over Google’s place with Live Search.
