alternative health

Alternative health refers to those methods of healing that have not been given the status of recognized medical treatments. Many have been around far longer than any medical science techniques and follow the common philosophy that the human body is its own best healer. Those who are for alternative health maintain that we are all born healthy and whole and it is only because of abusive lifestyles or external events that we fall sick. Those who are against alternative health feel that holistic healers play on the emotions of vulnerable individuals and that any treatment works as a placebo.

To provide balance in the debate, remember that while alternative health is effective in providing relief from various ailments like aches and pains, allergies, breathing problems and more, medical treatment is necessary in cases of serious disorders and conditions.


Alternative health covers many popular therapies like yoga and aromatherapy and home remedies as well as more obscure ones such as ear candling and urine therapy.
