I live my life based on a bastardized form of Karma. A self-serving version really. I try not to do mean/bad things to people with the hope that they will reciprocate. Maybe that’s a crap reason to be nice, but hey, if it keeps me from being a heinous bitch then I figure it can’t be all bad.

I have one of those types of houses that are connected by a thin wall to my other neighbors house, heck we even share a walk way. Normally they are pretty good, we had one time earlier this year where they blasted their music and I eventually, after a long day with a migrane went over and very politely asked her to turn it down just a tad.

  I’m a professor of literature at Keele University and I have to confess that I’m also the author behind all the short-short stories on this blog. This site is where I’ve been teasing out contemporary narratives from sentences in Dorothy Richardson’s first work Pointed Roof, which, in 1915, was the very first instance of stream-of-consciousness in an English novel.

Set to a backbeat of the glory that is Fergie, pounding through the wall that divides neighbor from neighbor, I write. First class. Up in the sky, on a zzjet plane. Livin’ the life. My neighbor listens to some awful shit. But she amazes me. Her tastes seem to defy all genre categorization, as well as logic.

The perfect question for me.   Looking out my front door, (across the street) I see my busy neighbor "Chuck, Chuck, Bo Buck, Banana Fanna Fo Fu...."  Another day, another project.  He's retired, has a GIANT "golf ball on a tee" mailbox, and is alway outside working on something.  To the immediate left of him, is the "Lawnmower Man" & Family.  I've only briefly met them...
