apps

Tag details

Apps, short for applications or application programs, can mean a wide variety of things today but are almost always associated with a technology product or service powered by software. Apps can be the basis for an entire company, or can be something that a solo developer builds and deploys in his or her spare time.

Apps are often associated with exciting areas of innovation and popular technology products or services. iPhone apps, for example, have greatly enhanced what people can do with the popular Apple mobile device. Entire songs are being written and performed only using an iPhone app, for example.

Other hotbeds of activity surrounding apps development include Twitter apps and Facebook apps. Popular Twitter apps include Twhirl, Twitteriffic, and TweetDeck.
