asics

Asics is an athletic company that was founded in Japan in 1949 but under a different name. Originally, the founder, Kihachiro Onitsuka named the company Panmure Co. Ltd. In 1977 the company merged with JTO and JELENK to become Asics.

The name Asics was decided upon after a very inspirational phrase took the form of an acronym...Anima sana in corpore sana which translates in English to "a healthy soul in a healthy body."

The company has designed and produced a wide array of athletic gear, from shoes to apparel and fashionable athletic bags. Asics trainers are a line that go as far back as the company and are still popular today.
