Worldwide there is one car for every eleven people (as of 2002). Costs of automobile usage which could include the purchase of automobiles, repairs, maintenance, fuel, depreciation, parking fees, tires, taxes and insurance are weighed against the cost of alternatives including car hire, public transportation, independence and convenience. The 2009 Motor Trend Car of the Year was award to Nissan GT-R, other automobiles on the list included the VW Passat CC and the Accura TL.

Blogs on automobiles include new trends, award winners and safety/performance rating information and often includes places to buy a new car. Blogs also include buying recommendation and information about depreciation and resale. The Car Blog includes classified ads for automobiles for consumers.
