Baby cribs, also called baby beds, are specialized beds for infants and toddlers designed to keep babies comfortably confined within the parameters of the bed for safety.

Babies often roll over and crawl in open spaces, so baby cribs create an enclosed space using vertical bars as a part of the bed frame in order surround and protect the actual baby mattress.

Baby cribs are also the most common and widely used piece of nursery furniture, ranging in price from inexpensive to high end, depending on the materials used and additional features, such as attached mobiles and drawers.
