THE winning balloon in the Examiner Schools of Chesham Carnival balloon race travelled all the way to Kent before it was found. All those who entered the race had their balloons released from a big net at the end of the carnival on June 14. The winning balloon finally came down on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent, 91.7 miles from Chesham.

I will have a bit more  time on my hands in the next couple of months and so I have decided to celebrate by letting off a balloon. Virtually of course. I am going to take part in the first online balloon race. Don't quite know how it works yet but I like the balloons.

Orange is hosting the World’s first Internet Balloon Race, and DidntYouHear is taking part. I’ve entered P-Nut the raccoon into the race (you should be able to see him in the bottom left of the screen), and DidntYouHear.com is a destination that racers can stop at to earn “miles” during the race.

Have you ever taken part in a balloon race? Normally it involves releasing a balloon to travel the country and seeing where it manages to end up, however in the case of Orange they are running a competition for the next week to celebrate the fact that they are releasing their animal tariffs onto PAYG mobile phones.
