Airports of Thailand (AoT), the operator of the major Thai airports is planning to spend $2.3 billion on capacity expansion at Bangkok’s main international airport to accommodate an anticipated increase in travel demand.

Kenya Airways has opened a Guangzhou-Bangkok-Nairobi route. The additional service is operated using Boeing 767 aircraft. There are two flights a week on Wednesdays and Fridays. The flight from Guangzhou to Nairobi takes 12 hours and travelers who intend to transfer to other cities in Africa can arrive within 3 hours.

According to Guilin Liangjiang International Airport, a fixed nonstop route from Guilin to Kuala Lumpur is scheduled to open from September 3, 2008. There will be four flights a week on the new route operated using Airbus A320 aircraft.

Bangkok Airways has launched a daily flight from Bangkok to Macau. With the opening of this new route, Bangkok Airways became the third airline to operate the Bangkok-Macau flights from Macau International Airport, increasing the number of flights from Macau to Bangkok to 45 a week.

Finally I have some decent time to sit down and blog in Bangkok. I touched down at Survanabumi airport on 24th July @ 11:30pm (GST +7) and I will be heading home in 2 days time. Looks like time flies faster when I am abroad. Hmm… Visiting Bangkok is a mixture of food, shopping and culture.
