The word "bargain" is so well-used in advertising that it seems like no one even spends money anymore unless it's a bargain.

Psychologists and marketers alike would love to be able to perfectly predict the one thing that will cause us to spend money. Those who have had great business success have understood one thing: a sale can only be made if each side thinks they are getting a bargain. Stephen Covey called it a "win-win." At the grocery store, we pay $0.98 a can for coconut milk (Hey, normally it's $1.60 a can!). We have made a price comparison between the usual price for coconut milk and the current price, and we have come out victors. The grocery store has figured out that they can sell coconut milk at their cost because they know you will spend $4.00 on donuts that have a 300 percent mark-up. So it's a win for them, too.

When we create as much value as we can for someone else, we will be compensated. We will find ourselves the "lucky" recipients of bargains everywhere. Bloggers speaking about bargains can be found at sites like couponing and melziemomsbargains.
