Face Addict: Dumb Critics pt 2

    http://arts.hurryupharry.org/ 2008/ 09/ 03/ face-addict-stupid-critics-pt-2/

This week I went to see Face Addict at the ICA.  Don’t be fooled by the picture of Warhol on the ICA page, this is not another raking over of his history or legacy - far from it: he is barely mentioned and when he is it’s tangentially.  It’s actually a the very personal story of the Swiss-Italian

Former New York Times film critic Elvis Mitchell teamed up with acclaimed photographer and filmmaker Timothy Greenfield-Sanders on The Black List, a series of "living portraits" conceived by Mitchell as an "answer to the persistent taint that western culture has applied to the word "black.'" Downtown 81

Staring Jean Michel Basquiat and co produced and written by Glenn O’ Brien, I’d say great documentation of the early 80’s New York art scene and an all around interesting time period. For more info on this film check the Downtown 81 official website.

Back to Atlanta with GUS FINK!

    http://www.menobodyknows.com/ nobodyblog/ ?p=364

I was honored to be invited by Internationally renown artist/illustrator/toy designer Gus Fink to join him and share a booth at Folk Fest 2008 in Atlanta. That would be great news, exept another if my finances were as unlimited as some believe my creativity is. But alas, I need to make some loot.

    No Mercy

I just finished watching The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, a movie about the former editor of Elle magazine who was paralyzed by a massive stroke at the tender age of 42. It was such an amazing film, so luminous and unexpected, that I was curious about what other projects director Julian Schnabel might be currently involved in.

    Video Poetry (Hallelujah edition)

I think it’s time again for a little Leonard Cohen Hallelujah action … it’s been just about 8 months since I posted Allison Crowe’s version of the song, and about 17 months since I posted the lyrics I’ve been able to determine from various different versions.
