If you don’t want to replace the default Windows Notepad with Notepad++ but would like to open any text file with it, you can set the file association at Settings - Preferences - File Association. As already noted in the comments and the article, Notepad++ is good.

Batch files are great, however, it has no graphical user interface to prompt user for an input. For example, choosing a folder, copy n paste some text as inputs... So.. But, how could I handle this interactive authentication process in Windows batch files or Linux shell scripts that scheduled to trigger file transfer between networked hosts on a daily basis?
