Here the second part of the drum solo and drums fills preparation. In first part we tried to feel the distances between the notes and the duration of bar we have to feel. Now we start playing simple notes creating rules and using rudments (that are always good in case of lack of ideas).

Friday groove May 2, 2008 A groove to work on. It’s a 5/4 two bars almost basic rythm, focused on the tuplet of the second bar. Good for practicing how to ’stretch’ the time, that is a funky, heavy groove, with a single tuplet. Look at the hi-hat: cymbals slightly open, a strong rock accent accent on the downbeat .
