    Sony Awards Get it Right

    http://onemoretake.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ sonys-get-it-right.html

With all the fuss about the lamentable Young Musician of the Year coverage (more to come, by the way), I nearly missed the Sony Awards, the 'radio industry Oscars'. A BBC Radio 4 full-cast dramatisation starring Michael Hordern as Jeeves and Richard Briers as Wooster ‘ Richard Briers and Michael Hordern… sensational in the main roles ‘ Time Out Steeple Bumphleigh is the sort of picturesque place where you can’t throw a brick without hitting a honeysuckled cottage or beaning an apple-cheeked villager.

BBC Radio 4: The Whitehouse Coup

    http://sos-at.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ bbc-radio-4-whitehouse-coup.html

~ In 1933 corporate America attempted to implement a coup against the US Government with plans to install a right-wing fascist dictatorship. One of the players in this treason was Prescott Bush, Georgie's granddaddy among other so called captains of industry, whom I refer to as traitors.

THE giraffe is the gayest of all of the animals. This is a fact: about 90% of all giraffe sexual activity is male-male. Giraffes also have purple tongues, no vocal cords and are patterned as they are as a result of an evolutionary adaptation that allows them to be camouflaged against crazy paving.

The Nobel Prize in Literature. The pinnacle of international success. The best thing that could ever happen to a writer. Right? Doris Lessing disagrees. Nobel Prize-winning author Doris Lessing has said winning the prestigious award in 2007 had been a “bloody disaster”.
