Summary of beCamp 2008
http://www.xaprb.com/ blog/ 2008/ 05/ 04/ summary-of-becamp-2008/Yesterday I went to beCamp 2008 along with four roomfuls of other people interested in technology (perhaps close to 100 people total). The conference was a lot of fun. Not everything went as planned, but that was as planned. This was an Open Spaces conference and I thought it worked very well.

http://www.taylordavidson.com/ writing/ 2008/ 05/ 04/ becamp-listening-and-learn…beCamp, Charlottesville, VA Friday and Saturday I participated in beCamp here in Charlottesville, VA (I might win the award for least distance traveled for my four block walk to the event). For the unitiated, beCamp is a variant of BarCamp, an open, participant-driven event, where the schedule, content and discussions are created and led by the participants for the participants.

becamp slides - Ramaze
http://dambalah.com/ 2008/ 05/ 03/ becamp-slides-ramaze/I am in Charlottesville attending becamp and I just talked about Ramaze, a lightweight web application framework written in Ruby. My slides are below. They are also on scribd. We had a very good group here and some interesting talks. I particularly enjoyed the talk on High Performance MySQL by Baron Schwartz.

http://www.opensourceconnections.com/ 2008/ 05/ 03/ becamp-session-notes-how-to-…Today I’m attending beCamp at the offices of CBIC on the downtown mall in Charlottesville. There have been some very interesting sessions already and attendance is great. I suggested one session, which we just had this morning. I titled the session “How to choose languages - .NET vs Ruby vs Java vs Php vs ?”.

Come to beCamp 2008
http://www.xaprb.com/ blog/ 2008/ 05/ 02/ come-to-becamp-2008/I’m going to be at beCamp 2008, the followup to the first beCamp, which I sadly missed. beCamp is a BarCamp un-conference. Tonight was about meeting, greeting, and throwing ideas at the wall to see which ones stick. Literally.

beCamp is coming up!
http://www.ibiblio.org/ bess/ ?p=115This is a repeat of a post I wrote on the beTech Blog Special note for code4libbers: If you’re anywhere in driving distance of Charlottesville and you like technology, beer, and FUN, please consider yourself invited to beCamp. We’re going to have a pretty healthy code4lib contingent already, so chances are good that you will know someone else here.
