The Bible is a collection of sacred writings of the Christian religion. Despite its ancient origins (the first five books are estimated to have been written around 1450 BC), the Bible is today the best-selling book of all time, and one that is both honored and challenged in the blogosphere.

To see the range, compare videos Bible in a Minute, an entertaining rap that has gotten more than a million views on YouTube, to the disparaging Top Ten Reasons the Bible is Repulsive, one of a series of provocative videos by a professed atheist.

Both secular and religious perspectives often turn to the Bible for support in current hot-button issues, such as abortion, homosexuality, and even personal finances.

Some bloggers feel the Bible has slipped from its central place in churches, while many pastors are using the Internet as a tool to conduct online Bible studies.
