birth

Tag details

Birth refers to the beginning, or in the case of  pregnancy; the process of delivering the offspring. For humans birth is the final stage of the gestation period that according to the World Health Organization is normally considered to be 37-40 weeks.

There are different kinds of birth as far as humans are concerned. Natural childbirth is where medical intervention is kept at a minimum, especially anesthetics. Unassisted Birth, where medical and/or professional birth assistants are not involved at all, this is also called free birth. Then there’s caesarean section, a surgical procedure where birth is through the wall of the abdomen. Caesarean is usually only used when there are complications during normal childbirth that prevent the baby being born any other way.

Birth Blogs are in abundance providing tips, anecdotal stories and suggestions on how to minimize the stress of the birth process. Enjoy Birth offers an insightful and informative learning experience about birth.
