Blog Day is an annual event on the Internet celebrating bloggers around the world.

This international day dedicated to the personal, yet public, thoughts of millions of people in the blogosphere was established in 2004. According to the purveyors of Blog Day, the day is "dedicated to getting to know other bloggers from other countries and areas of interest. On that day bloggers will recommend other blogs to their blog visitors. With the goal in mind, on this day every blogger will post a recommendation of five new blogs. This way, all blog readers will find themselves leaping around and discovering new, previously unknown blogs." By doing this, bloggers and their readers can see "Blogs that are different from their own culture, point of view and attitude."

A different twist on Blog Day currently being promoted is an event called Blog Action Day. Bloggers on this day gather together to discuss an important issue affecting people worldwide. For 2008, the chosen issue was poverty.
