What exactly are blogs? Blogs, shorthand for "web logs," are defined by the folks at Wikipedia as web sites which are "usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog."

There are many ways to create blogs. Several companies help make it easy to set one up, including popular platforms such as Blogger, WordPress, and TypePad. Also, there are many places to find specialized lists of blogs. These include CNET, Globe of Blogs, and The New York Times.

Users can also use several specialized search engines to find blogs or posts they are interested in viewing. These entities include Blogdigger, Icerocket, and, of course, Technorati!
