Tag details

Blood pressure is defined as the force of blood against blood vessels. When a heart beats, it pushes the blood into vessels. A person is diagnosed as hypertensive if his or her systolic blood pressure is greater than or equal to 140 mm Hg and diastolic blood pressure is greater than or equal to 90 mm Hg.

If you do not control your high blood pressure it could lead to Stroke, Cardiovascular accident, heart attack, heart failure, kidney failure or blindness. Blood pressure has two types. Essential hypertension which has no cause and secondary hypertension which always has some cause. There are more chances of having high blood pressure if you are obese, drink alcohol, take lot of salt in your diet or are under stress

Most common symptoms of blood pressure are headaches, nosebleeds, dizziness, a flushed face, blurred vision and fatigue. If you suffer from chronic high blood pressure, then you may have symptoms like headache, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, breathlessness and blurred vision as a result of damage to the brain, kidneys, eyes and Heart.
