Join Last year I bought a Hydrangea plant for my garden. I think I bought it in August or September so it didn’t do anything last year except settle itself into it’s new home. I believe it’s an Endless Summer Hydrangea and it was definitely labeled as a *pink* hydrangea.

Join Last weekend we went to The Brick Works. It’s an old brick factory that’s been turned into an eco-preserve and I suppose tourist attraction. Likely the bricks that make up my 1927 Triple Brick house were made at this old now defunct factory.

These lovely iris are growing all wild along the roadsides in Door County. The flowers this year seem to be out-doing themselves. Maybe giving us a reward for surviving last winter’s brutal punches. I’m thankful for all the bright colors and the warmth of the sun too.

  Spiderwort is a common plant throughout Wisconsin, blooms from now until September. If you want to enjoy this flower, you have to visit before mid-day and each flower only lasts one day. It becomes droopy in the afternoon, and shrivels and disappears into a sticky, liquified mass by nightfall.

Join My garden will soon be bursting with blooms like this lovely Blue Gentian. I was just saying on my other blog that many of my plants are developing buds, but few are flowering right now. Much like my puppy when she sees us eating or when she’s anticipating a treat I think I’m beginning to drool in anticipation of that sudden burst of blooms.
