FX books a second ride with the Sons of Anarchy

Filed under: Other Drama Shows, Pickups and Renewals, Reality-Free With Rescue Me failing to bring in the ratings FX really needs or wants, and even this final, and for the record brilliant, season of The Shield under-performing, it's pretty awesome that new series Sons of Anarchy seems to have found an audience.

    HBO’s “Trueblood” based on books

    http://cherry-blossom.us/ 2008/ 10/ 07/ hbos-trueblood-based-on-books/

Ever since I heard that this amazing series is based on a long book series I’ve been meaning to order them. usually a movie or series isn’t half as good as a book. Look at Interview With The Vampire! The movie was great, but the book was amazing. The books Trueblood is based on are called “Southern Vampire Mysteries” by Charlaine Harris.

A few weeks ago, Marc (thanks mate) recommend and sent me the book The Mythical Man-Month by Fred Brooks in a PDF file, but as I am a compulsive online buyer and I love the smell of new books I decided to buy it.

    Bibliophile Stalker meets Larry

    http://verbeat.org/ blogs/ pwt/ 2008/ 10/ bibliophile-stalker-meets-larr.html

Charles Tan interviews my blogger friend Larry Nolen, of the excellent OF Blog of the Fallen - and finally I get to know why does the blog have this name (aside from other interesting things about Larry and his passion for books, which I share wholeheartedly). He will be publishing an interview every Tuesday from now on.

    Dealing with Bullies

    http://gnmparents.com/ dealing-with-bullies/

My mother-in-law, a retired school guidance counselor, recently passed on a couple of great books about dealing with bullies.  Written by Trudy Ludwig, My Secret Bully, Just Kidding, and Sorry are all beautifully illustrated books that deal with the difficult topics of peer pressure and fitting in.

    Reason for God

    http://solarcrash.com/ 2008/ 10/ 07/ reason-for-god/

I just finally finished Tim Keller’s “Reason for God”.  Keller’s been noted for saying that his book is ‘Mere Christianity’ for dummies.  While he quotes plenty of C.S. Lewis, I personally think it’s better than Lewis. I haven’t read apologetics in a while, but I think I’ll try to read this over again once every year.
