Bordeaux (pronounced "Bore-Doe") may sound like something from a children's jump rope rhyme, but it's actually a bubbling metropolis located in southwest France. Located right on the shore of the Garonne River, near the Atlantic coast, this city has many advantages as far as commerce and exporting goods and services.

Over a million people strong in population, this region is world famous for its Bordeaux Wine. Most of the wine produced in this region is red wine; however, several white wines and sparkling wines are also produced here. With almost 300,000 acres of vineyards growing grapes for wine production, there are almost 850 million bottles of Bordeaux Wine produced every year. These award-winning wines clean house at wine-tasting competitions across the globe. However, Bordeaux is also making a name for itself in many other industries. Industries such as aeronautics and lasers have recently skyrocketed Bordeaux to international recognition.

Bordeaux's population is overwhelmingly French (obviously). However, many Italians, Germans, and Spaniards have immigrated into the region and now call Bordeaux home. This contributes to Bordeaux's reputation as a "melting pot" or "tossed salad" of cultures and peoples.
