A bouquet is an arranged group of flowers. Historically, artists would get their subject woman to hold a flower bouquet in a deliberate manner to enhance and add color to a painting.

Currently, the main purpose of a flower bouquet is for a bride to hold during her wedding ceremony. Bouquets will almost always be custom-made for the bride-to-be and will usually contain three or more flowers of any kind.

Tradition states that the bridal bouquet will consist of many flowers, but of one species and color. However, it is not uncommon today to see a variety of flower species and colors in one arrangement.
