brand

People who have become such celebrities or cause so much pomp and circumstance, and whose name has extended way beyond their person are lucky enough to be a "brand". And their brand, or their reputation, can make them a lot of money.

But most of the time a brand is associated with a product or service. Maybe you like Cornflakes for breakfast. Your favorite pair of pants may be Levi's. Your computer could be a Mac. Your car may be a Ford. These are all brands, and branding something is giving it an identity, or name to be known by.

With a great marketing strategy for their brand, some products and services really catch on and can grow like wildfire, taking on a life of their own. Once the brand is well established, just having the brand name on it, even if it is a new product within the product line, may make it an instant success.

One way that getting your brand "out there" and getting it some decent exposure is by way of the internet. Companies may pay someone so they can increase website traffic, thereby cutting down on their overhead costs and getting their brand in front of as many viewers as possible.
