brangelina

Brangelina is a term coined from the first names of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. It is a popular tag because the couple generate worldwide blog and media attention.  Each award-winning actors in their own right, Pitt was named People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" in 1995 and 2000 while Jolie topped the magazine's "100 Most Beautiful" list in 2006.

The couple are reported to have became romantically involved while filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith. At the time, Pitt was married to actress Jennifer Aniston.  They divorced in 2005 as Brangelina became a media phenomenon. 

Jolie and Pitt have lived together since 2005 and have six children, including three who were adopted.  There is such media fever surrounding Brangelina that the exclusive rights to the first images of their twins born in July 2008 were sold for $14 million, setting a record for the most expensive celebrity pictures.
