Bumblebees
http://smallgarden7.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 07/ bumblebees/I have a cotoneaster in my garden which I really don’t like. In fact I want to pull it out and replace it with Holly. However last year I found out there was a decline in the bumblebee population in the UK and having noticed a lot of buzzing around the cotoneaster I realised I have a garden full of bumblebees.

dialectics in doggerlands
http://yammering.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 05/ dialectics-in-doggerlands/I walked out in the garden with De Kooning this morning. It was mild and no longer raining. In the Thick of Thistle
http://selmaala.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 04/ in-thick-of-thistle.htmlTo some of us, thistles are just prickly, aggravating weeds meant to be dug up and thrown away. To bumblebees, they are sustenance. To the Scots, they are the national emblem and a symbol of high honor! It seems that thistles once drove the barefoot Norsemen away from their invasion of Scottish shores.

Bumblebee Sightings
http://irregulartimes.com/ index.php/ archives/ 2008/ 04/ 25/ bumblebee-sighting…Has anyone else out there in Americaland noticed a large number of bumblebees this spring? I see them everywhere I go here in Columbus, Ohio. Anne Raver sees many of them in Maryland. Robin threw a pillow at one in New York. The Iowa Victory Gardener reports a greater proportion of bumblebees than honeybees in Des Moines.
