cake

A cake is a baked dessert that is usually sweet tasting and is sliced before serving. Some popular cakes include cheesecake, carrot cake, red velvet cake, pound cake, sponge cake, strawberry shortcake, coffee cake, and angel food cake. Common flavorings include chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, lemon, pumpkin, coconut, and rum. Cupcakes are miniature round cakes designed to be eaten easily without utensils in just a few bites.

Cake decorating is a confectionary art form that uses cake frosting, sprinkles (also known as jimmies), cake toppers, and other decorative elements to enhance the visual appeal of a finished cake.
