California's Supreme Court declared gay couples in the nation's biggest state can marry - a monumental but perhaps short-lived victory for the gay rights movement Thursday that was greeted with tears, hugs, kisses and at least one instant proposal of matrimony. Same-sex couples could tie the knot in as little as a month.

These permits are required for burning approved combustibles in piles larger than 4 feet in diameter. To obtain the required permit, contact the nearest Cal Fire office for an application. In addition to the Cal Fire permit, the North Coast Air Quality Management District requires a special Non-residential Coordinated Burn Authorization for burning piles greater than 4 feet in diameter.

Mount Baldy Road remains closed today as the Big Horn Fire continues to blaze in the Angeles National Forest. So far, the fire has burned 430 acres, and was only 25% contained as of this morning. And of course, the next few days are supposed to be hot and windy.
