camps

The American Camping Association reports there are more than 12,000 residential and day camps offered in the US. The camps range in focus from the wilderness camps with tents and campfires, to sophisticated training programs offering a variety of classes and training modules. Camps can be found for all ages and there are a number of excellent special needs camps for kids and adults.

Some camps run just a week or two in the summer, others year round and some are considered travel camps, offering tourism and travel adventures. Camps can be designed for children, adults, couples or families. The Parenting Weblog offers great advice, reviews and recommendations on the parenting perspective of camp and its related benefits. Other special interest camps include aviation, science, fashion, cooking and farming. No matter what your child’s interest there seems to be a camp program to challenge, train and inspire them.
