I was first named with breast cancer in Oct of 1992, at the historic period of 37. My life changed that day, in shipways that I would not full see until lots of months posterior. I was inhabitting in Miami at the clip, an urban center I had got populated in during my adolescent months.

We know that Jackie Warner, fitness guru and star of Bravo’s Work Out (Tuesdays 10 p.m.) is hot ghetto mess of an individual– the poster child for unprofessional behavior.   For the past two and half seasons, Bravo has looked the other way as Jackie openly dated one employee and made sexual advances towards others.

I suppose I shouldn’t complain because my workplace does give us the benefit of being able to request sick leave from a sick leave bank — that is, other people have donated unused sick leave and when I’ve used up all of my sick leave and vacation leave, I can request to use that leave from the sick leave donations.

Do you ever have one of those weeks where it just seems like everything is happening at once? On top of my normal work schedule, Bike to Work Week is upon us and I am involved with the effort here in Greenville. Also, I have a couple of additional volunteer obligations that happened to hit this week.

*gasp* a blog done during the day!? OMG! anyway lat time i said I’d continue the day after as I was so sleepy and did not make sense , but didn’t so oh well so thought I may as well write one now in my garden on a warm summers day ahhhhh….. Work.

I haven't submitted anything in a while. It's been almost 6 months since my mother passed away, and it's taken this long to climb out of the fog. It's surprising how many areas of your life are affected by something like that. There's the depression, which puts a cloud over everything and just takes the joy out of things that used to be so interesting.

I’m worried that the new job may not happen. It’s possible that I may fail my medical. The doctor wanted further clarification with the cancer surgeon today - he was also interested in my use of anti-depressants, and wants to follow up with my GP. Was I wise to mention the anti-depressants? Perhaps.

Somehow, I don’t think I’ve been humbled as much as I’m going to be in this cancer journey. I think the humility that I’ve had to experience is just the tip of the iceberg, really. It’s not always easy either, humbling yourself, accepting other peoples’ offers of help, gifts, whatever it is that they have to give.
