Candies are sweet treats usually made from a base of sugar, created in all sorts of colors, shapes and flavors. You can load up on candy supplies to use them for cake decorating or use them to create a gingerbread house during Christmas.

Candies are very popular during holidays. Kids know that Halloween and Easter are the two biggest days of the year to load up on candy. Adults also get in on the candy eating action giving Valentine's Day candy to their special someone to show them how much they care.

One of the most popular candies is undoubtedly chocolate. Chocolates come from the cacao bean and have been found to have outstanding antioxidant health properties from the flavonoids contained in them. The darker the chocolate the better it is for you, so when looking for candies that can also improve overall health, pick dark chocolate, which is also typically lower in sugar.
