With the failure of our economy we are all making cutbacks. There are some things we can’t live without. For me that would be the internet. It is my lifeline to the outside world, I have dumped my local phone service in favor of a prepaid cell since we don’t yack on the phone.

We all know that question. The one about whether or not your conversation partner can hear you or if you've been talking to a piece of plastic for the last minute and a half. Wired's got some ideas for how to get to the bottom of a cell phone reception problem and what to do about it.

I get so frustrated with my cell phone. It seems that my aunt was trying to reach me, or rather was trying to reach my mom. Their brother, my uncle, passed away and my aunt was trying to tell us. With all the technology we have these days, why is it so hard to make a phone call? It must have been frustrating for my aunt to need to talk to someone and not be able to get through.

If you’ve got a cell phone, chances are, you have a place were you get bad reception. Chances are, that place is your home or office. It’s just how luck works.
