Since our peach crop came in with a rush in these warm late-summer days, we are eating lots and lots of peaches. For breakfast, on granola. For dessert, in cakes and cobblers. I haven't figured out how to showcase them as a main course yet but I'm working on it - maybe smoked with roast pork...

    http://danamccauley.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 09/ 04/ goat-butter/

A couple of years ago, goat butter started to turn up along with the bread basket at a few restaurants. Usually the kind of restaurants that serve regional, back to the earth, ingredient driven cuisine.

    First dinner in Seattle (again)

    http://blog.jagaimo.com/ archive/ 2008/ 07/ 21/ first-dinner-in-seattle.aspx

Hiromi made it safely to Seattle last Tuesday. I managed to stay away from the office all day, though I did a little bit of work during Hiromi's inevitable afternoon crash. Though I arguably had time to do something more elaborate, we kept it simple, mostly due to the warm weather Seattle's had the good fortune to encounter for the last few weeks.

Making chevre cheese from our home-milked goat milk

    http://nikas-culinaria.com/ 2008/ 06/ 24/ homey-chevre/

(This was cross-posted to Humble Garden) (Homemade chevre cheese) We are enjoying our independence from the food chain. We get our eggs and our milk (and now cheese) from our backyard. We eat our salads from our backyard. If you don’t now, what are you waiting for?! If you think food prices are high now, you will be pale with shock soon enough.

    http://www.thekitchenplayground.com/ 2008/ lets-have-a-quickie/

It’s been quite a while since I posted a 10 minute meal. Today I needed it. I was missing a vital ingredient for my planned meal and got buried deep in laundry. So this is what I came up with. Seafood and Goat Cheese Pasta.

Cheese of the Week (Year!): Monterey Chevre from Rawson Brook Farm

    http://cafejohnsonia.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ cheese-of-week-year-monterey-chevre…

I love my friend Tania. She is so sweet and thoughtful, among many other great qualities. And she also shares our family's love of goat cheese. This being the case, when she saw that our family didn't make it back up to the Berkshires over the weekend, she went to Rawson Brook Farm and bought me some delicious Thyme and Olive Oil Chevre.
