Chik-fil-a. Let’s see. I think it was my second job when I was 14. Terrible experience if I recall, but the free food was a plus. Unfortunately, the kids toys always sucked. Since Chik-fil-a is a bible-thumping restaurant chain (never open on Sundays!), most of the crap children got in their Kids Meal was religious-based propaganda or a crappy book.

(FranchisePick.Com)  It’s voting day in the home of the brave and the land of the free… The free donut, coffee, taco and ice cream cone. The franchise industry is providing patriotic voters with their own economic bailout program… making sure they get their fix of sugar, caffeine and butterfat.  If only the oil companies would be so generous.

A hidden camera (ha, ha!) caught Britney Spears rehearsing for the MTV VMA’s… at least that’s what everyone would like to believe. What others said: Dlisted says, “It could be for the VMAs, it could be for a concert or it could be for the opening of a Chik-Fil-A. Who knows.”

Do you like this? I made it myself. Chik-fil-A is giving away three free chicken strips on Monday, Labor Day, to all customers wearing football-related clothing (high school, college, or NFL). I know, I know, you’re like, “Why would this matter to me? That’s on Monday, and I only crave Chik-fil-A on Sundays.” Same here.

Before there was Chik-Fil-A S. Truett Cathy started what is known today as the Dwarf House Restaurant in the Atlanta, Georgia suburb of Hapeville in 1946. It was there across from a Ford plant that Cathy’s restaurant served to for three shifts a day that he invented the chicken sandwich.

Sometimes in life there are rules, but we still have a choice as how to respond.  Two different situations at the mall, two very different responses that really stuck with me.  One made me feel a little queasy, the other made me grin from ear to ear.  It made me think about what impression I leave on other people.

1 Quart Water 1 Cup Splenda 1 Cup Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice We love Chikfila Diet Lemonade and are surprised to see how easy it is to make.  We suspect it would not be as good if we made it, as “fresh squeezed lemon juice” requires an unattainable level of patience for us.

The kids and I are driving to Illinois tomorrow to spend the week with my parents, so yesterday I had to take the Explorer in for service. We didn't want to sit in the shop for a few hours, so we walked to Chik-Fil-A. Once it was ready, the kids and I had to walk from Chik-Fil-A back to Firestone to get the car.

A Starbucks barista tried to fatten up the Olsen twins by making their skim lattes with whole milk. How dairy she! Haha. Shut up. [A Socialite's Life] Jodie Foster cheated on her girlfriend of 14 years with screenwriter Cindy Mort. Relationship killer, that one.

[flickr] It’s probably safe to say that anyone who’s ever had In-N-Out Burger suddenly just got very hungry! Truth be told, Alicia can keep her Chik-Fil-A (which Vegas is, admittedly, sorely lacking) because I have In-N-Out! In-N-Out Burger is, without exception, something everyone in my family can agree on when we need a quick lunch or dinner.
