    Stoudt’s Fat Dog

Stoudt’s Fat Dog By BarleyBlog | October 6th, 2008 | Beer | Comments (0) I’ve had my fair share of stouts through the years, but this has got to be my first Imperial Oatmeal Stout — and bottle conditioned, as well. I haven’t been able to find my hands on as many Stoudt’s brews as I would have liked, but randomly happened upon a chilled 6 pack of this one at a local shop.

    Bell’s Cherry Stout

Bell’s Cherry Stout By BarleyBlog | September 17th, 2008 | Beer, Reviews | Comments (1) The Apocalypse must be upon us. It just has to be. I mean, how the hell could I not like a stout? Nosh the Vote!

    http://blogs.kqed.org/ bayareabites/ 2008/ 09/ 13/ nosh-the-vote/

Nosh the Vote! The espresso ganache-based Obama chocolates that Cosmic Chocolates pours out in Oakland as part of their "Cosmic Icon" collection is old news in the Bay Area. Tasty, but old. Therefore, our Bay Area political chocolatieres should step up their game because Boston-based Burdick's is seriously outclassing them.

Yeah, I know. It’s about time. I’ve been unusually silent here for the usual reasons. This was deadline week for a couple of stories and the column for Mid-Atlantic Brewing News, following hard on the Celebrator Beer News deadline the week before.

Harpoon Chocolate Stout debuts this winter

    http://beernews.org/ 2008/ 09/ harpoon-chocolate-stout-debuts-this-winter/

(Boston, MA) - Harpoon Brewery will debut Chocolate Stout later this winter according to a label approval that came in this week. An interesting play considering that this is a style that could appease both seasoned beer connoisseurs and the broader drinking public.

    Beer and Chocolate (Cheese)

Dare I say this is part 1 and get myself into a long series of Beer and “Chocolate/Cheese” articles?  Nah, I’ll leave it at this, if you ever go into a cheese or chocolate shop and ask what should I pair it with the inevitable answer is usually wine.
