choice

A choice, making a choice, or choosing, is the act of making a selection from among two or more alternatives. Every human action is a choice, whether picking a flavor of ice cream or deciding whether to go to work today. However, some choices are conscious choices, while others are habitual choices - made without conscious thought.

In the blogosphere, "choice" is widely and contentiously used to refer to the debate over the relative importance of freedom of personal choice versus various religious views on morality in the areas of sexual conduct, contraception, and end-of-life decisions.

"Choice" can also be used to describe to a product or service that is considered superior.
