The best-selling book of all time is the Holy Bible. Many Christian books have Christ and His ministry as recorded in the Bible as their focal points. Though Jesus Christ was very young when he was taken from this life, His timeless wisdom and teachings have been so pervasive and influential, that often times the performance of a good deed or a gesture of kindness may sometimes be referred to as a "Christian act," although regardless of a person's religious or nonreligious affiliation, generally it is universally recognized that serviceable acts and charity are a sign of movement towards self-actualization no matter from whom or where they originate.

The teachings of Christ as found in the Bible and other Christian books are quite similar to those of other prominent historical religious figures of all faiths, and even nonreligious, principled teachers.

Christian books
review several of the noted teachings in Christ's life, one example being the Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount. Christian books also speak of the significance of Christ's birth, His life, the Crucifixion, and the Atonement.
