Jump to Comments For Today Outside my Window… it’s cloudy and cool with a slight breeze. The trees still have leaves, the grass is lush and green. Fall may be here, changing colors on the trees in town but outside in our “quad” it is still green and beautiful.

It’s the time of the year when one needs to plan for the holidays. As early as September, I already know what to bake for Christmas. A childhood memory that never fails to remind me of the Christmas season is Fruitcake. I used to bake a lot of fruitcake in the past but the girls never really got around to acquiring a taste for it.

Its been a while coming but here are the recipes from our recent dinner party. chorizo in potatoes I read about these in a Gourmet Traveller whilst sitting in a cafe in Sydney recently. I didn’t copy the recipe but it’s pretty simple so I probably did the same thing as the original recipe specified.

Well, no news from the retina specialist. They cancelled my appointment thanks to Tropical Storm Fay. Now I have another month or so to work myself up into a tizzy until my next appointment. It's all good though because we have had some torrential downpours here today.

Each Tuesday in July, I will be writing about a different aspect of being prepared for Christmas. Some parts may help with your Christmas in July celebrations and some may just get you thinking about December. One of the things that comes to mind when I think of Christmas is a table covered in delicious food.
