chrome

Chrome is a term used to describe something plated with chromium but it is also the name of a popular web browser by Google.

Named for the silver border that frames web browsers, Google Chrome is Google’s open source browser, developed using the WebKit layout engine and application framework.

Chrome runs on what Google calls a "V8 Javascript Engine" that was also released as an open source project, appropriately called Chromium.

Google Chrome was designed to be faster and use less memory than competing browsers. Although the browser itself is offered with open sourcing for developers to use, Google owns many of the components that work within the browser.
