Tip - 5 Minutes to Feeling Good August 30th, 2008 Organizing doesn’t always have to be a huge day long production. I’m sure we’ve all learned through the podcasts that getting organized is an ongoing process, you don’t have to be perfect just keep at it.

Most of us are trying to find ways to be more responsible in our lives and businesses. Working towards being greener and more sustainable. It’s not easy, especially when we depend on stuff and paperwork. Did we ever imagine our businesses would involve so much paper? But besides paper clutter, there are other ways to go green in your office, and Dumb Little Man gives us nine.

This decluttering challenge is not as easy as I thought it would be. It only requires one item per day. But it also means that there are days when I don’t actively think of finding that one item that I can either get rid of or take action on. The good thing is that this challenge is really forcing me to do it.

Its the truth. Whatever you spend your time and energy and focus on will turn out well. I was reminded of this when my 5th grader had his first science project this last year. We were He was given three months to prepare, organize, research and build his project.

Procrastination can creep in and easily become a habit. Once it does, it erodes your capacity to function effectively. But it can be a hard habit to break. However, with some honest self-assessment and an organized and attainable plan of attack, it can be overcome successfully.

Getting your closet organized in a manner that is going to continually serve you takes time. The success of your endeavor is going to depend on the system you device to keep your closet organized. Most of us have never stopped to consider all the open space in our closet.

I use a little box for all my bill paying stuff. A calculator, checks, pen, stamps, and small budget notebook all go into the box, which sits by my desk on my high use zone bookshelf. My bills (the ones I actually get in paper form) go into my current box.
