The third Runner up of the Forbidden Island Cocktail Contest, Golden Monkey Grog, by Patrick Callahan!  This drink is on the menu at Forbidden Island from now through November! A blend of some traditional ingredients, it’s got a lot of spice, and very little burn for all the booze.  The addition of coconut cream gives it a heckuva texture.  Cheers to the runner up!

Filed under: Feast Your Eyes I'm a huge fan of guacamole. I like it with minced onion, lots of lime juice and a bit of shredded cilantro. However, when I make it at home, I'm forced to serve it in a plain old ceramic bowl. Rachel has a far better vessel for her guac, this fabulous avocado shaped bowl (complete with matching lid to help stave off oxidation).

Mangoes…I love them…just have a hard time finding a good one at times.   The first time I ate a mango, it was somewhat underripe, and actually cutting the mango up was a little bit frustrating, due to the monster pit waiting inside that lovely yellow flesh.

I've blogged about Thai green curry and Thai red curry before but both of those recipes used a store bought paste and I was really wanting to try making them without a pre made paste someday. I recently bought First Crack Your Egg, a fairly basic cookery book, but I thought it may encourage my hubby with a kitchen phobia to try some simple dishes.

Filed under: On the Blogs, Feast Your Eyes I can't tell you how many burgers I've made over the years (I made turkey burgers for dinner just last night!). However, I've never attempted to make the buns for those burgers myself. However, Rachel at Coconut & Lime is an adventurous kind of girl and so created a slightly sweet bun, inspired by King's Hawaiian rolls.

I am feeling SOOO much better! What a huge relief. Tuesday afternoon I started to feel human again and in my body. I was at work and even though it was super hot I managed to feel better as the day went on instead of worse. I had a beet/grapefruit/celery juice around 1pm and all of a sudden I felt in my body again.
