Since the end of 2007, I have installed and set this blog up as for DoFollow to link back to folks who leave comments here. I felt it was a way of saying thank you to folks who read my blog and leave some feedback on my posts.

Right since the beginning of my blogging career, I’ve been using Akismet in conjuction with Bad Behavior to weed out spam from my blog. Akismet is as a natural choice since it comes parcelled with WordPress installations. As for Bad Behavior, I decided to use it after reading plenty of articles on effective spam filtering.

I ran the new Typepad Anti-spam plugin for over a week and both Typepad and Akismet identified exactly the same comments as spam. I deleted Typepad - no need to have both. This makes me curious. Why did Typepad write their own plugin?
